HP EliteBook Folio 9470m 14" Ultrabook

This HP EliteBook Folio 9470m is a 14.0-inch business Ultrabook running Windows 10 Pro 64-bit. It targets mobile professionals who need a thin, light chassis with a dual-core Intel Core i5-3437U processor, 16 GB DDR3 memory and a 128 GB SSD for everyday office workloads.

Installation and common issues

The unit ships with the operating system already installed so it is ready to use after the initial Windows setup. Because the memory and storage are internal, there are no user-accessible slots for upgrades and the battery is not designed to be swapped in the field.

Capacity and headroom

The 16 GB DDR3 and 128 GB SSD combination handles typical productivity tasks such as document editing, web browsing and video calls comfortably. The 128 GB drive will fill quickly if large media libraries or multiple virtual machines are stored locally.

Questions about this item

How can I verify the 14.0-inch HD anti-glare display is working correctly after setup?

Power on the laptop and check that Windows 10 Pro loads on the 1281 x 720 LED-backlit panel without dead pixels or backlight bleed; confirm the Intel Core i5-3437U dual-core processor and 16 GB DDR3 memory are recognised in System Information.

What is included in the box and what must be purchased separately for this EliteBook Folio 9470m?

The unit ships with the 14-inch ultrabook, 128 GB SSD, 16 GB DDR3 RAM, Windows 10 Pro 64-bit, webcam, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, VGA, DisplayPort, Ethernet and three USB 3.0 ports; no optical drive is present, so an external USB DVD drive must be bought separately if required.

Which configuration should I choose between the 8 GB and 16 GB DDR3 memory options for the 128 GB SSD model?

Select the 16 GB DDR3 version listed here to match the installed 16 GB specification; this provides maximum multitasking headroom for the Intel Core i5-3437U running at 1.90 GHz with 2.90 GHz turbo.
