Convertible 13.3" FHD Touchscreen

The HP EliteBook x360 1030 G3 is a 2-in-1 laptop with a 360-degree hinge and a 13.3-inch FHD IPS panel protected by Corning Gorilla Glass. It runs Windows 11 Pro on an 8th Gen Intel Core i7-8650U quad-core processor with 16 GB of onboard DDR42133 RAM and a 512 GB PCIe NVMe M.2 SSD. Integrated Intel UHD Graphics 620 handles the display output.

Connectivity and Expansion

Two USB-C ports with Thunderbolt support provide video, data and charging from a single connector. A full-size HDMI port, a USB 3.1 Gen 1 charging port and a headset jack complete the physical interfaces. Wireless connectivity uses Wi-Fi and Bluetooth 4.2. The spill-resistant keyboard with drain design and DuraKeys adds durability for mobile use. The compact chassis frees desk space and removes the need for a separate tablet.

Mobile Professionals Seeking a Premium 2-in-1

This configuration suits users who need a lightweight convertible with a bright touchscreen, long manufacturer warranty coverage until 2023 and a quad-core U-series CPU for office workloads. Buyers who want more storage, discrete graphics, user-upgradable memory or a larger display should look at something else. The soldered 16 GB RAM and single M.2 slot limit future expansion.

Questions about this item

How does the quad-core i7-8650U behave when it runs at its 4.2 GHz turbo for long periods?

The 1.9 GHz base clock and 4.2 GHz max turbo mean the chip will hit thermal limits quickly in the slim chassis, so sustained all-core loads drop toward the base frequency.

What are the fan noise and surface temperatures like during an all-day workload?

Integrated UHD 620 graphics and the thin convertible body push heat through a small vent; expect audible fan spin and warm palm rests under continuous load.

Which peripherals can I connect straight away using the built-in ports?

Two USB-C Thunderbolt ports, one HDMI, one USB 3.1 Gen 1 charging port and a headset jack are available; no legacy USB-A or Ethernet without an adapter.
