14-inch convertible laptop for mobile professionals

The HP EliteBook x360 1040 G7 is a 14-inch touchscreen laptop built on a 10th Generation Intel Core i5 platform with a base speed of 1.60GHz. It ships with 24GB of system memory and a 256GB solid-state drive running Windows 11 Pro. The 360-degree hinge supports laptop, tent, stand and tablet modes for flexible working.

Suited for office work and travel.

This configuration suits professionals who need a portable convertible for document editing, video calls and web-based applications. The integrated Intel UHD Graphics and single memory slot limit its appeal for buyers who want more storage headroom, discrete graphics performance or user-upgradeable RAM beyond the soldered configuration.

24GB memory and 256GB SSD define capacity

The 24GB RAM and 256GB SSD are fixed specifications that determine whether this unit meets workload demands. The SSD capacity may range between 240GB and 256GB, while the single memory slot means no further expansion is possible. Buyers should verify these figures against their software requirements before purchase.

Questions about this item

What limits performance first when the Core i5 runs at its 1.60 GHz base speed under sustained load?

The integrated Intel UHD Graphics shares the 24 GB memory pool, so graphics workloads compete with the CPU for bandwidth and thermal headroom.

How does the 14 inch Full HD chassis behave after hours of continuous operation?

The convertible design packs a 1.60 GHz processor and integrated graphics into a thin 14.0 inch body, so surface temperatures rise and fan noise becomes audible during long sessions.

Which expansion slot must be free to add more storage beyond the 256 GB drive?

The M.2 slot holds the supplied SSD, and the specifications show only one memory slot total, so no internal slot remains for a second drive.
