Refurbished 2-in-1 for business users

The HP EliteBook x360 830 G8 is a refurbished convertible laptop built for mobile professionals. It runs Windows 11 Pro 64-bit with a Windows 10 Pro 64-bit downgrade option. The 13.3-inch touchscreen supports pen and touch input in laptop, tent, stand or tablet modes. Quad-core Intel Core i5-1145G7 processor and 8 GB of soldered DDR4 3200 memory handle office workloads and video calls.

Wi-Fi 6 and LTE Cat 9 connectivity limits

Wireless networking uses Intel Dual Band Wireless-AX201 with Wi-Fi 6 (802.11a/b/g/n/ac 2x2). The integrated Intel XMM 7360 modem provides LTE-Advanced Cat 9 WWAN for mobile broadband. Both radios share the same M.2 slot, so only one can be active at a time. Bluetooth is present for peripherals. No wired Ethernet port is included on the chassis.

256 GB PCIe SSD and 8 GB fixed memory

The single specification that decides fit is the 256 GB PCIe solid-state drive paired with 8 GB of onboard DDR4 3200 memory. Storage cannot be expanded internally and memory cannot be upgraded after purchase. Buyers who need more local capacity or higher RAM for virtual machines or large datasets should look elsewhere. The 1920 x 1080 IPS BrightView panel reaches 1000 nits brightness.

Questions about this item

Should I pick the 8GB memory with 256GB PCIe SSD or look for a larger capacity?

This model ships with 8GB DDR4 3200 soldered on board and a 256GB PCIe SSD. The memory cannot be upgraded, so choose this configuration only if your workload fits within 8GB.

What does the 1000nits brightness figure mean when I am working indoors?

The 13.3" IPS touch panel reaches 1000 nits, so it stays readable in bright offices or near windows without maxing out the backlight and draining the battery.

Will the Wi-Fi 6 AX201 2x2 card hit its rated speed on my existing router?

The Intel AX201 supports Wi-Fi 6 with two spatial streams. Real-world throughput is capped by your router's 802.11ax implementation and channel width, not by the laptop's wireless hardware.
