Compact desktop for home and study

The HP EliteDesk 705 G5 Mini is a small-form-factor PC built around an AMD Ryzen 5 PRO 3400GE processor running at 3.3 GHz with a boost up to 4.00 GHz. Integrated AMD Radeon Vega 11 graphics handle everyday visuals. It ships with Windows 10 Pro, 8 GB of DDR4-2666 memory and a 256 GB SSD, targeting students and home-office users who need a tidy, ready-to-use system.

Wireless connectivity built in

Wi-Fi 6 (802.11ax) and Bluetooth 5.0 are integrated, removing the need for separate adapters and freeing USB ports for peripherals. The 65 W power supply keeps cable clutter low. No optical drive is fitted, so software installs rely on downloads or external media.

Mini chassis with front audio

The black mini case places a combined 3.5 mm headset jack and a separate headphone output on the front for quick access. VESA mounting points let the unit sit behind a compatible monitor, saving desk space. Buyers needing multiple internal storage bays or a discrete graphics card should look at larger form factors.

Questions about this item

Can the 8 GB DDR4-2666 memory be upgraded later?

The system uses DDR4-2666 memory; the installed 8 GB module can be replaced with higher-capacity DDR4-2666 modules if the chassis provides additional slots.

What limits sustained performance on the Ryzen 5 PRO 3400GE?

The 65 W power supply caps total system draw, so the processor cannot maintain its 4.00 GHz boost indefinitely under heavy multi-core loads.

How loud and hot does the mini desktop get during all-day use?

The compact chassis relies on a small fan that spins up under load; expect audible airflow and warm exhaust when the CPU and Radeon Vega 11 graphics run continuously.
