Mini PC for student and home office

The HP EliteDesk 8 G1i is a Mini PC designed for student and home office use. It ships with Windows 11 Pro and an Intel Core Ultra 7 265T processor. The system includes 32GB DDR5 memory and a 512GB NVMe SSD. A monitor is not included.

90W power and compact thermals

The unit operates with a 90W power supply inside a chassis measuring 1.3 inches high, 7 inches wide and 7.1 inches deep. It weighs 2.98 lb. Intel Graphics handle the visual output. Wi-Fi 7 and Gigabit Ethernet provide network connectivity.

32GB DDR5 decides capacity fit

The 32GB DDR5 memory is soldered and not expandable, so buyers who need more capacity must choose a different system. The single 512GB NVMe SSD can be replaced for additional storage. One Thunderbolt port and four USB 3.2 Gen 2 ports support high-speed peripherals.

Questions about this item

How is the 90W power adapter connected to the Mini PC, and what step is often missed?

The 90W adapter plugs into the barrel jack on the rear; the step often missed is fully seating the connector until it clicks so the system receives stable power for the Core Ultra 7 265T.

Which component will need replacement first, and what specification must the new module match?

The 32GB DDR5 memory is the only user-replaceable part; any replacement must be DDR5 SODIMM to match the installed memory type.

What thermal limit appears first when the Core Ultra 7 265T runs at 5.30 GHz for extended periods?

The Mini PC's 1.3-inch height restricts cooler capacity, so the CPU hits its thermal throttle point before the 90W adapter reaches its output limit.
