HP EliteDesk 800 G1 Tower

The HP EliteDesk 800 G1 Tower is a desktop computer built around an Intel Core i7-4770 processor running up to 3.90 GHz. It comes with 16GB DDR3 memory, a 1TB SSD and a 2TB HDD, and ships with Windows 10 Pro installed. Integrated Intel HD Graphics 4600 handles the display output.

Suited for general office work and home admin

This system suits users who need a traditional tower with plenty of storage bays and legacy USB 2.0 ports for older peripherals. Buyers who require dedicated graphics performance for modern gaming or GPU-accelerated rendering should look elsewhere. The DDR3 memory platform also limits upgrade paths for anyone planning future capacity increases.

Intel Core i7-4770 with integrated graphics

The quad-core i7-4770 tops out at 3.90 GHz and relies on the onboard Intel HD Graphics 4600 for video. No discrete graphics card is included, so the integrated GPU determines whether the machine meets your visual workload requirements. Verify that this level of graphics performance matches your intended applications before purchasing.

Questions about this item

Does the 1TB SSD or 2TB HDD need replacement first under normal use?

The 2TB HDD has moving parts and typically wears out before the 1TB SSD, which has no mechanical components.

What limits performance first during sustained heavy workloads?

The Intel Core i7-4770 will hit its thermal ceiling and throttle before the 16GB DDR3 memory or Intel HD Graphics 4600 become bottlenecks.

How loud and hot does the tower get when running all day?

The tower stays relatively quiet under light loads, but the CPU cooler ramps up noticeably during prolonged high utilisation, pushing warm air out the rear vent.
