Ultra-compact desktop for office tasks

The HP EliteDesk 800 G2 Mini is a new ultra-small form factor PC built around an Intel Core i5-6500T processor with four cores running at a 2.50 GHz base frequency and up to 3.10 GHz. It ships with 8 GB of DDR4L memory, a 256 GB solid-state drive and Windows 10 Pro pre-installed. A keyboard, mouse and USB Wi-Fi/Bluetooth adapter are included.

Suited for general business and home-office use

This configuration handles everyday productivity, web browsing and video conferencing within a footprint that fits behind a monitor or on a desk shelf. Buyers who need discrete graphics performance, additional internal drive bays or user-upgradeable memory slots should look at larger chassis designs.

256 GB SSD primary storage

The single 256 GB solid-state drive provides the operating system volume and application space. Users with large local media libraries, extensive project files or backup requirements will need external or network-attached storage to supplement the internal capacity.

Questions about this item

Does the 65 W TDP of the i5-6500T cause the mini chassis to throttle during long workloads?

The 6500T runs at a 2.50 GHz base clock and can reach 3.10 GHz; the built-in air cooling keeps temperatures in check for typical office tasks, but sustained all-core loads may reduce turbo duration.

How loud is the fan when the system runs all day?

The small internal fan stays quiet at idle; under continuous load it becomes noticeable but remains within normal office background noise.

What display cables do I need since no monitor is included?

The rear panel provides one DisplayPort and one VGA output, so have a DisplayPort or VGA cable ready for your screen.
