Compact Business Mini PC

The HP EliteDesk 800 G4 Mini delivers a hex-core Intel Core i5-8500 running at 3.00 GHz inside a small black chassis designed for office desks. It ships with Windows 11 Pro pre-installed and a recovery image on the 256 GB SSD. This unit is aimed at IT buyers who need a space-saving desktop for standard productivity workloads.

Ready-to-deploy configuration

Eight gigabytes of DDR4 memory and the solid-state drive are already fitted, so the system boots quickly and handles multi-tab browsing without extra assembly. The operating system includes a hard-disk-based recovery image for simple restoration. No monitor, keyboard or mouse are supplied in the box.

Six-core 3.00 GHz processor

The i5-8500 provides six physical cores at a fixed 3.00 GHz base clock, which determines how well the PC runs typical business applications. Buyers whose workloads demand higher sustained frequencies or more than eight gigabytes of RAM should consider a different configuration. Gigabit Ethernet is the only wired network connection.

Questions about this item

Will the 256GB SSD need upgrading for larger workloads?

The installed 256GB SSD handles the operating system and typical business applications; adding a second drive via the internal slot is the path if capacity becomes tight.

What limits sustained performance on the i5-8500 3.00GHz in this Mini chassis?

The compact thermal solution manages the processor's heat within its design envelope, so extended loads run at the rated base frequency without throttling.

How loud and warm does the 800 G4 Mini get during all-day operation?

The small form factor uses a low-profile fan that stays quiet under normal office loads; surface temperatures remain comfortable for a desk-mounted unit.
