HP EliteDesk 800 G5 Small Form desktop PC

The HP EliteDesk 800 G5 is a compact business desktop powered by a 9th generation Intel Core i5 9500 six-core processor running at 3.0 GHz. It ships with 8GB of DDR4 memory and a 1TB NVMe PCIe M.2 solid-state drive. Windows 11 Pro is pre-installed. Integrated Intel UHD Graphics 630 handles display output.

Installation and common issues

The small form factor chassis fits on or under a desk and uses standard air cooling. Connect the included power cord, attach a monitor via the two DisplayPort outputs, and plug in your own keyboard and mouse. Only one USB 3.1 Gen 2 Type-C port is provided, so check cable compatibility. Wi-Fi is not included; a wired Gigabit Ethernet connection or an add-in card is required for networking.

Who this suits and who should look elsewhere

This desktop suits office workers and home users who need a ready-to-run Windows 11 Pro machine for productivity, web browsing and video conferencing. Buyers who want a dedicated graphics card for gaming or 3D rendering should look elsewhere. Those needing built-in Wi-Fi, a larger memory capacity out of the box, or a tower chassis with more expansion slots will need a different configuration.
