EliteOne 800 G4 All-in-One PC

The HP EliteOne 800 G4 is a 23.8-inch FHD all-in-one desktop powered by an 8th Gen Intel Core i5-8500 hexa-core processor running at 3.0GHz with turbo up to 4.10GHz. It comes with 32GB of DDR4 SODIMM memory and a dual-drive setup of 512GB M.2 SSD plus 1TB SSD. Windows 10 Pro is pre-installed with USB keyboard and mouse included. This system suits office workers and small-business users who need a compact, ready-to-use workstation.

Integrated UHD 630 graphics and thermal design

The integrated Intel UHD Graphics 630 handles everyday productivity and video playback without a discrete GPU, keeping heat output and fan noise low in normal office use. The all-in-one chassis consolidates the display and compute components, drawing power from a single cord and reducing desk clutter. Gigabit Ethernet, integrated Wi-Fi and Bluetooth provide standard connectivity for wired and wireless networks.

Upgrade from older all-in-one or tower plus monitor

This unit replaces a separate tower and monitor combination or an earlier-generation all-in-one with slower storage and less memory. The jump is worthwhile when you want the speed of dual SSDs and 32GB RAM in a single slim device that includes a DVD-RW drive and webcam. It is not for buyers who need discrete graphics performance, expandable PCIe slots, or a larger display than 23.8 inches.

Questions about this item

How do I add more DDR4 memory to the 204-pin SODIMM slots, and which step do people often miss?

Remove the rear cover, insert the module at an angle until the gold contacts disappear, then press down until both side clips click — the step most people miss is pressing firmly enough to engage both clips.

Which drive will likely need replacement first, the 512 GB M.2 SSD or the 1 TB hard drive?

The 1 TB hard drive has moving parts and typically wears out before the solid-state M.2 drive.

What thermal limit appears first during a long, heavy workload on the i5-8500?

The processor will hit its 4.10 GHz turbo ceiling and then throttle to stay within its thermal envelope.
