Business Laptop for Mobile Professionals

The HP Essential 17t is a 17.3 inch Windows 11 Pro laptop built for office work and travel. A 10 core Intel Core i7-1355U processor and 8 GB of DDR4 3200 memory handle spreadsheets, video calls and browser tabs. The 512 GB PCIe NVMe SSD provides fast boot and load times. A touch enabled HD+ display adds direct input for presentations.

Sustained Load Behaviour

The 15 watt U series chip runs at up to 4.7 GHz for short bursts but settles to lower clocks during long compile or render sessions. Intel Iris Xe graphics share system memory, so extended 3D or heavy video work will throttle once thermal limits are reached. The 250 nit BrightView panel stays readable indoors but offers limited headroom in bright environments.

Deciding Specification

The single specification that decides fit is the 8 GB soldered DDR4 3200 memory ceiling. Buyers who need more than 8 GB for virtual machines, large data sets or future proofing cannot upgrade this unit. The M.2 slot supports up to 2 TB NVMe storage, yet the RAM limit remains fixed.

Questions about this item

How much heat and fan noise should I expect from the Core i7-1355U when the 17.3" touchscreen runs at 250 nits all day?

The 10-core i7-1355U has a low base power, so the cooling system stays quiet during typical office work; sustained heavy loads will spin the fan higher but the chassis remains comfortable to touch.

Which peripherals or cables must I already own to use the HDMI, USB-A and USB-C ports on this 15.78" x 10.15" chassis?

The laptop includes Wi-Fi 6 and Bluetooth 5.3 for wireless accessories; any wired monitor, mouse or storage device with standard HDMI, USB-A or USB-C connectors will work immediately.

Will my existing DDR3 SO-DIMM modules fit the memory slots if I want to expand beyond the installed 8 GB?

No — this model uses DDR4-3200 SO-DIMMs only; DDR3 modules are physically and electrically incompatible, so you must purchase DDR4 memory to reach the 64 GB maximum.
