Ready-to-play gaming desktop

The HP G6 is a complete system built around an Intel Core i5-10500 processor with 6 cores and 12 threads, running at a 3.10 GHz base and up to 4.50 GHz turbo. It comes with 16GB DDR4 memory, a 512GB SSD and a dedicated NVIDIA GeForce GT 1030 graphics card with 2GB GDDR5. Windows 11 Pro is pre-installed and a 24-inch LED monitor, RGB keyboard and mouse are included in the box.

Casual gamers and everyday users

This desktop suits players who want smooth frame rates in esports titles and older games at 1080p, plus a compact Small Form Factor chassis that fits tight spaces. It also works well for office work, streaming and general multitasking thanks to the 12-thread CPU and fast SSD. Buyers who need higher frame rates in modern AAA games, more VRAM for texture-heavy workloads or a larger power supply for future GPU upgrades should consider a different system.

GT 1030 2GB GDDR5 dedicated graphics

The graphics card is the single component that defines the gaming ceiling of this build. With 2GB of GDDR5 memory it handles lightweight and competitive titles comfortably but limits performance in newer, VRAM-hungry games. If your library leans toward demanding recent releases, this GPU will be the bottleneck.

Questions about this item

How do I install the GT 1030 in the small form factor case, and which bracket screw do people forget?

The GT 1030 is already fitted in the PCIe x16 slot. Keep the low-profile bracket screwed to the chassis and connect the monitor cable to the card's HDMI or DisplayPort output, not the motherboard ports.

What maintenance will the 512 GB SSD and 16 GB DDR4 need later?

The SSD has no moving parts, so no mechanical service is required. The DDR4 memory is soldered or slotted without user-replaceable heat spreaders; only a BIOS update may improve compatibility.

Which limit appears first during a long gaming session with the GT 1030 2 GB GDDR5?

The 2 GB GDDR5 frame buffer fills quickly at 1080p, forcing texture streaming and lowering frame rates before the i5-10500 reaches its 4.50 GHz turbo ceiling.
