Refurbished 14-inch business laptop

The HP 840 G8 is a refurbished thin-and-light workstation aimed at professionals who need a ready-to-deploy Windows 11 Pro machine. It combines a quad-core Intel Core i7-1165G7 processor with 32 GB of system memory and a 512 GB NVMe drive. The 14.0-inch non-touch display shows 1920 x 1080 resolution and the chassis weighs 3.3 lbs.

Suits mobile office workers; not for creative pros

This unit suits mobile office workers who value a Grade A cosmetic finish, a built-in webcam and a full set of USB 3.2 Type-A, powered USB 3.2 and USB Type-C ports plus HDMI 1.4 and RJ-45. Buyers who need a dedicated graphics card, a touchscreen panel or more internal storage should look elsewhere.

32 GB shared-memory configuration decides fit

The 32 GB of memory is shared with the integrated Intel Iris Xe graphics, so the single specification that decides fit is whether that unified pool meets your multitasking and light-graphics workload. If your applications demand discrete video memory or upgradeable RAM slots, this configuration will not match the requirement.

Questions about this item

Will the USB 3.2 Type-A ports work with my older USB 2.0 peripherals?

Yes, the two USB 3.2 Type-A ports are backward compatible with USB 2.0 devices, so existing mice, keyboards and drives will function normally.

How can I verify the Intel Iris Xe Graphics are active after installing Windows 11 Pro?

Open Device Manager, expand Display adapters and confirm Intel Iris Xe Graphics appears without a warning icon; the driver version shown should match the Intel support site for the i7-1165G7.

Does the box include a power adapter or must I buy one separately?

The package contains the refurbished laptop and a power adapter; no separate purchase is required for charging.
