Who this suits and who should look elsewhere

This printer suits offices and home users who need reliable black-and-white documents and have a USB host available. Buyers who require colour output, wireless or Ethernet networking, or a starter toner cartridge in the box should consider other models.

Deciding specification

The single specification that decides fit is the USB-only interface; if your environment demands network or wireless printing this device will not connect without an external print server.

Questions about this item

Does the USB connection limit print speed in practice?

The USB port handles the full 27 ppm rating without bottleneck.

What desk space and paper tray depth does the unit need?

It accepts 250 sheets in the standard cassette, so allow room for the tray to extend fully.

What is the first step after unpacking, and what do people skip?

Install the new maintenance kit fuser and rollers before printing; many skip this and get jams.
