Mono laser printer for small offices

The HP LaserJet P2035 is a monochrome laser printer built for desktop use in small offices or home workspaces. It connects via USB and produces black-only output at a rated 30 pages per minute. The unit ships without toner and requires drivers from the manufacturer website. It suits users who need reliable text printing without colour capability.

300-sheet input and 1200 dpi output

A single 300-sheet paper tray feeds the engine, giving enough capacity for daily print runs before a reload is needed. Print resolution reaches 1200 x 1200 dpi, which keeps text sharp and graphics legible for typical business documents. The printer handles plain paper well but offers no duplex unit, so double-sided jobs require manual re-feeding. High-volume environments will find the tray capacity and single USB link limiting.

Replaces older USB-only mono lasers

This model upgrades from earlier single-function mono lasers that topped out at lower speeds or smaller trays. The jump is worth it when print volumes have grown beyond 20 ppm devices and a 300-sheet tray reduces interruptions. It does not suit buyers who need network connectivity, wireless printing, colour output or automatic duplexing.

Questions about this item

Will the USB-only HP LaserJet P2035 work with a Windows XP desktop that lacks network printing support?

Yes, the printer connects through a standard USB cable and Windows XP includes built-in drivers for the P2035, so the older desktop can send jobs directly without a network stack.

How can I verify the 1200 x 1200 dpi output is actually being produced after I install the printer?

Print the built-in configuration page from the control panel; it lists the active resolution setting and shows a test pattern that lets you confirm sharp 1200 x 1200 dpi text and graphics.

Does the CE461A box include a starter toner cartridge, or must I buy one before the first print?

The unit ships without toner; you need to purchase a compatible HP 05A or 05X cartridge separately before you can print any pages.
