Monochrome Laser Printer with Duplex and Ethernet

The HP LaserJet P4014DN prints black-only pages at up to 45 ppm with a 1200 x 1200 dpi resolution. It includes automatic duplex printing and a 600-sheet input capacity. The bundle adds a new generic toner cartridge rated for 10000 pages. Connectivity is provided by Ethernet and Hi-Speed USB ports.

Thermals Noise and Power Draw in Normal Use

As a monochrome laser device, the printer generates heat during the fusing process and emits audible noise while printing at rated speed. Power consumption rises during warm-up and sustained output but settles to a lower standby level between jobs. No specific acoustic or wattage figures are supplied by the source data.

Upgrade Path and When the Jump Is Worth It

This unit replaces a slower single-sided printer or a shared inkjet that cannot match the 45 ppm throughput or 1200 dpi sharpness. The jump is worthwhile for workgroups that need automatic duplexing, network sharing via Ethernet, and a high-yield toner supply to reduce cartridge changes. It does not suit buyers who require colour output or wireless-only connectivity.

Questions about this item

How do I install the HP CC364A toner cartridge in the P4014DN, and what step is often missed?

Open the front door, remove the orange shipping seal completely, rock the cartridge gently five times, then slide it in until it clicks; skipping the seal removal causes blank pages.

Which consumables will need replacement after the included 10000 page toner is depleted?

The HP CC364A toner cartridge, pickup rollers, separation roller, transfer roller, fuser film and pressure roller are the items that wear out and require periodic replacement.

At what duty level does the 600 sheet input tray become the first bottleneck during sustained printing?

The 600 sheet tray limits continuous output; once it empties you must reload paper, so the tray capacity is the first constraint during long runs.
