HP LaserJet Pro 400 Color M451DW bundle

This HP LaserJet Pro 400 Color M451DW bundle is a colour laser printer supplied with a full set of generic toner cartridges. It serves small offices or workgroups that need colour output on a wired network. The duplex-ready engine prints on both sides of the page automatically. The package includes black, cyan, magenta and yellow toner supplies.

Ethernet 10/100Base-TX and USB 2.0 limits

The printer connects through a Fast Ethernet 10/100Base-TX port and a Hi-Speed USB 2.0 port. The wired network link caps throughput at 100 Mbps, which can slow large colour jobs sent from multiple users. USB 2.0 direct printing is limited to the host computer's port speed. Wireless 802.11 b/g/n is also available for networks without cabling.

Replaces single-function or simplex printers

This unit replaces a single-function colour printer or a simplex-only device when two-sided printing and network sharing are required. The jump is worth it if your current machine lacks duplex capability or an Ethernet port for workgroup access. It does not suit buyers who need higher paper capacity or faster colour throughput than 21 pages per minute.

Questions about this item

Should I choose the toner bundle with the CE410X black cartridge or a standard-yield alternative?

The bundle includes the CE410X high-yield black cartridge rated for 4000 pages, plus CE411A cyan, CE413A magenta and CE412A yellow cartridges each rated for 2600 pages.

What does the 21 ppm rating mean when I print a typical office document?

The printer delivers up to 21 pages per minute for both black and colour output, so a 30-page report finishes in roughly one and a half minutes.

How fast is the Ethernet port and will it bottleneck my network?

The Fast Ethernet 10/100Base-TX port caps at 100 Mbps, which is adequate for print traffic but slower than Gigabit LAN.
