Refurbished 15.6" business laptop

The HP 450 G3 is a refurbished Windows 10 notebook built for office work and study. An Intel Core i5-6200U running at 2.3GHz pairs with 8GB of memory and a 240GB SSD for responsive everyday performance. The 15.6-inch non-touch panel shows 1366 x 768 resolution. Integrated graphics handle standard business applications without a discrete card.

Thermals and power in normal use

Integrated graphics and a low-power U-series processor keep heat and fan noise modest during typical document, browser and video tasks. The 240GB solid-state drive adds no moving parts, helping the system stay quiet. Power draw stays low enough for extended sessions on the included battery and AC adaptor.

Included accessories and their impact

The box supplies the laptop, a battery and an AC adaptor so the unit is ready to run immediately. No optical drive is fitted, saving weight and space for mobile use. Windows 10 is pre-installed, removing the need for a separate licence or setup media.

Questions about this item

How do I install a fresh copy of Windows 10 on the 240GB SSD?

Boot from a USB installer, select the 240GB SSD as the target, and let Windows 10 create its partitions automatically; the step people miss is ensuring the BIOS boot order prioritises the USB stick before the internal drive.

Which component will need replacement first during the laptop's life?

The internal battery is the part most likely to require replacement first, as rechargeable cells lose capacity with every charge cycle while the 240GB SSD and 8GB memory have no moving parts to wear out.

What thermal limit appears first when the Core i5-6200U runs at 2.3GHz for long periods?

The integrated graphics share the same cooling solution as the CPU, so sustained 2.3GHz loads raise the package temperature until the firmware throttles both the processor and the integrated card together.
