What this laptop is

The HP OMEN 16-u0020nr is a 16-inch gaming laptop running Windows 11 Home. It combines a 13th Generation Intel Core i7-13700HX processor with an NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4070 Laptop GPU that has 8 GB of GDDR6 memory. The system includes 16 GB of DDR5-4800 MHz RAM and a 512 GB PCIe Gen4 NVMe M.2 SSD.

Who this suits and who should look elsewhere

This machine suits gamers and creators who want a 16:10 IPS panel with a 2560 x 1600 resolution, 240 Hz refresh rate, 400 nits brightness and 100% sRGB coverage. Eyesafe certification, flicker-free DC dimming and a 7 ms response time support long sessions. Buyers who need more than 512 GB of internal storage or more than 16 GB of memory should consider other options.

The specification that decides fit

The 240 Hz WQXGA display with NVIDIA G-Sync is the defining feature for competitive play. It delivers smooth motion and tear-free frames at the panel's native 2560 x 1600 resolution. If your workflow or games do not benefit from a 240 Hz refresh rate, a lower-refresh model may meet your needs at a different price point.
