HP OMEN 35L Ryzen 7 8700F Gaming Desktop

This HP OMEN 35L desktop pairs an AMD Ryzen 7 8700F processor with an NVIDIA GeForce RTX 5070 graphics card and 32 GB of Kingston FURY DDR5-6000 memory. It targets gamers and content creators who want a ready-to-use system for high-refresh 1440p play and multi-threaded workloads without building from parts.

Upgrading from older pre-builts

Moving up from a system with a previous-generation GPU or integrated graphics makes sense when you need 12 GB of GDDR7 video memory and the 8-core, 16-thread CPU for modern titles and creative apps. The jump is worth it if your current rig cannot hold two PCIe Gen4 NVMe SSDs totalling 3 TB or lacks Wi-Fi 6 and Bluetooth 5.3 connectivity.

Tool-less chassis access with standard ATX power

The 35L case opens without tools so you can reach the two M.2 slots, memory slots and the 600 W 80 Plus Gold ATX supply. Common issues include forgetting to seat both DDR5 modules fully until the latches click, leaving the GPU auxiliary power unplugged, or not enabling EXPO in BIOS to reach the rated 6000 MT/s speed.

Questions about this item

What motherboard form factor does the OMEN 35L chassis accept?

The OMEN 35L chassis uses a standard ATX motherboard layout; the included board follows that form factor.

How is the Kingston FURY DDR5-6000 memory installed, and what step is often missed?

The two 16 GB modules are pre-seated in the board; if you add more later, enable EXPO in the BIOS or the memory will run at the default JEDEC speed.

When will the 600 W 80 Plus Gold power supply likely need replacement?

A quality 600 W Gold unit typically lasts 7–10 years; replace it if the system shuts down under heavy GPU load or the fan becomes noisy.
