Performance you control

The HP OMEN MAX 16 is a gaming laptop built around an Intel Core Ultra 7 255HX processor with 20 cores and 20 threads reaching 5.2 GHz. An NVIDIA GeForce RTX 5070 Laptop GPU with 8 GB GDDR7 dedicated memory pairs with 16 GB DDR5-5600 MT/s RAM and a 1 TB PCIe Gen4 NVMe M.2 SSD. Windows 11 Home runs on a 16.0 inch 2K IPS display covering 100% sRGB at 400 nits.

Put your throttling on ice

A vapor chamber, liquid metal on the CPU and self-cleaning fans form a thermal architecture designed to cut throttling and long-term wear. The 165 Hz panel with a 3 ms response time keeps motion clear during sustained loads. An Unleashed Mode allows manual overclocking for users who want to push the hardware further while the cooling system manages the resulting heat output.

Light the way you play

A lattice-less per-key RGB keyboard and additional lighting zones are customisable through OMEN Gaming Hub. Instant Pair connects up to three compatible HyperX wireless devices without dongles. The 1920 x 1200 anti-glare screen with Low Blue Light reduces eye strain during long sessions. Included software trials cover Adobe, McAfee, Otter.ai and Microsoft 365 alongside HP Support Assistant and BIOS Protection.

Questions about this item

Can the 16 GB DDR5-5600 memory be upgraded later?

The laptop uses two 8 GB DDR5-5600 modules; both slots are occupied, so adding capacity means replacing the existing pair.

Does the 1 TB PCIe Gen4 NVMe SSD leave a second M.2 slot free for extra storage?

Only one 1 TB PCIe Gen4 NVMe M.2 drive is listed; a second slot is not confirmed in the specifications.

Will the 165 Hz 2K display fully utilise the RTX 5070 8 GB GDDR7 in modern titles?

The 1920 x 1200 IPS panel runs at 60-165 Hz with 3 ms response and 100 % sRGB, matching the GPU output for high-refresh gaming.
