Slim 16 AI laptop

The HP OMEN Slim 16 is a 16.0 inch gaming laptop built around an Intel Core Ultra 9 285H processor and NVIDIA GeForce RTX 5070 graphics. It ships with 32GB of DDR5 memory and a 4TB PCIe SSD for fast storage. The 144Hz IPS WUXGA display suits competitive play and content creation alike.

Thermals noise and 150W power

A 150W power supply feeds the system while a 70 WHr battery handles mobile use. The Slim chassis balances airflow and acoustic output during everyday tasks such as browsing or video playback. Wi-Fi 6E AX211 and Bluetooth 5.4 maintain wireless connectivity without adding thermal load.

Sustained load behaviour

Under extended gaming or rendering sessions the 16-core CPU can reach 5.4GHz while the RTX 5070 8GB GDDR7 GPU maintains high clocks. The dual graphics architecture shifts work between integrated and dedicated engines to manage heat. The 1920x1200 panel keeps frame pacing smooth over long periods.

Questions about this item

How do I install the 4TB PCIe NVMe SSD and what step is often missed?

The 4TB PCIe NVMe SSD is already installed; the step people miss is confirming the drive appears in the BIOS before first boot.

What maintenance will the 70 WHr battery and 150W PSU need later?

The 4-cell 70 WHr battery will lose capacity over time and may need replacement; the 150W PSU requires no routine service.

What limit appears first on the 144Hz IPS panel during long gaming sessions?

The 144Hz refresh rate caps frame output before the RTX 5070 8GB GDDR7 GPU reaches its thermal ceiling.
