16-inch 2K OLED touch laptop

The HP OmniBook 7 combines a 16-inch 2K OLED touchscreen running at 120 Hz with an Intel Core 9 270H processor and 32 GB of DDR5 memory. It ships with Windows 11 Home and a 1 TB NVMe SSD. The display supports HDR at 500 nits and a 0.2 ms response time.

Sustained workload behaviour

The 14-core Core 9 270H can reach 5.8 GHz with Turbo Boost while the integrated Intel Graphics handles visual output. A 100-watt AC adapter feeds the system and the 4-cell lithium-ion battery during long sessions. Wi-Fi 7 and Bluetooth 5.4 maintain fast wireless links under continuous load.

Deciding specification

The 32 GB of DDR5 memory is soldered and not user-expandable, so buyers who need more than 32 GB must choose a different model. The 1 TB SSD can be replaced with a larger NVMe drive up to 2 TB. Thunderbolt 4 and HDMI 2.1 provide external display connectivity.

Questions about this item

How loud or hot does the Intel Core 9 270H get during all-day workloads with the 100-watt AC adapter?

The 14-core Intel Core 9 270H runs up to 5.8 GHz; sustained loads draw power through the 100-watt adapter, so fan speed and surface temperature rise accordingly.

Which peripherals must I already own to use the Thunderbolt 4 and HDMI 2.1 ports on this laptop?

You need Thunderbolt 4 or USB-C cables for the 40 Gbps port, an HDMI 2.1 cable for the video output, and USB-A devices for the 5 Gbps and 10 Gbps Type-A ports.

Will my existing DDR5 memory modules work if I want to expand beyond the 32 GB soldered on this unit?

The laptop supports up to 64 GB of DDR5; added modules must match DDR5 specification and form factor to be recognised by the Intel Core 9 270H memory controller.
