Dual-lens 4K video conferencing

The HP Poly Studio E70 is a wired smart camera built for meeting rooms that need 3840 x 2160 capture. Dual lenses and AI-enhanced framing keep participants in view without manual adjustment. It targets teams running Zoom who want zero-configuration deployment.

Wired Ethernet and USB-C limits

Connectivity relies on a single RJ-45 port for network link and one USB Type-C connection at 5 Gbps signalling rate. No wireless option is present, so a cable run to the switch and host is mandatory. Bandwidth above 5 Gbps is not supported by the provided interface.

Plug-and-play with cable constraints

Installation is described as skip-the-configuration: attach power, network and USB-C, then launch the meeting. The fixed dual-lens unit cannot be repositioned optically after mounting. Rooms lacking Ethernet drops or a USB-C host port will need extra infrastructure.

Questions about this item

Which Poly Studio E70 configuration should I pick for 4K video conferencing?

The 842F8AA model delivers 3840 x 2160 capture through its dual-lens system, so this single SKU covers the 4K requirement without extra versions.

What does the 3840 x 2160 resolution look like in an actual meeting room?

It provides true 4K UHD video fed over the USB Type-C 5 Gbps link and the RJ-45 Ethernet port, letting remote participants see fine detail across the room.

How does the USB Type-C 5Gbps and Ethernet interface limit the camera in practice?

The 5 Gbps USB-C connection and wired Ethernet link carry the full 4K stream without compression bottlenecks, so bandwidth caps do not reduce the 3840 x 2160 output.
