Business-ready VoIP phone

The Poly VVX 450 is a corded desktop phone designed for office environments that rely on SIP-based telephony. It supports Zoom and OpenSIP services and includes an integrated Ethernet switch with two RJ-45 ports. The handset and base are both corded, and the unit can be wall mounted using the supplied hardware. Microban antimicrobial protection is applied to the body.

12-line capacity and call handling

The phone manages up to 12 line appearances with a colour LCD display and busy lamp field indicators. It handles 3-way conference calls and standard call services including wait, forward, transfer, hold and park/pickup. Voice codecs supported are G.722, iLBC, Opus, G.729A/B and G.711 a-law/μ-law. The speakerphone and volume control cover typical desk and small meeting-room use.

Gigabit Ethernet interface limits

Both network ports operate at 10/100/1000 Mbps and the device is powered via PoE, so no separate supply is needed. The integrated switch passes LAN connectivity to a PC through the second port. The phone is ENERGY STAR qualified and RoHS compliant. It does not support wireless or Bluetooth connectivity, and it lacks USB headset support.

Questions about this item

Will the 2 Ethernet 1000Base-T ports and 12-line capacity handle my existing SIP trunk and desk cabling?

Yes. The phone provides two 10/100/1000Base-T RJ-45 ports for LAN and PC passthrough and supports up to 12 simultaneous SIP lines, so it fits directly into a standard Gigabit trunk and structured cabling.

How can I verify the VVX 450 is operating correctly once connected?

The colour LCD shows registration status, active line keys, BLF indicators and call timers; a dial tone, successful test call and Zoom or OpenSIP presence sync confirm full operation.

What ships in the box and what must I source separately?

Included: VVX 450 handset with cord, desk-stand/wall-mount hardware, CAT-5E LAN cable and setup sheet. Not included: external power supply (phone is PoE-powered) and any optional headset or expansion module.
