HP ProBook 450 G9 business laptop

The HP ProBook 450 G9 is a 15.6-inch business laptop powered by a 12th Generation Intel Core i7-1255U processor with 10 cores and 12 threads. It includes 16 GB of DDR4-3200 MHz memory in a dual-channel configuration and a 512 GB PCIe NVMe M.2 SSD. The system runs Windows 11 Pro and uses integrated Intel Iris Xe graphics with shared system memory. It suits professionals who need a reliable daily driver for office applications and video calls.

Ready to use out of the box

The laptop arrives with Windows 11 Pro pre-installed and configured, so no operating system setup is required. Memory and storage are soldered or installed internally, meaning there are no user-accessible slots for immediate upgrades. The integrated graphics share system RAM, which reduces available memory for heavy multitasking. Cosmetic imperfections such as minor scratches and dents are noted on the chassis but do not affect functionality.

Check your workflow needs

Verify that 16 GB of non-upgradable DDR4 memory meets your application requirements before purchase. The 512 GB NVMe SSD offers fast boot and load times but cannot be expanded internally without replacing the drive. The 15.6-inch FHD IPS panel covers 45% NTSC colour gamut at 250 nits brightness, which may limit colour-critical work. Connectivity relies on Wi-Fi 6 and Bluetooth 5.2; wired Ethernet requires a USB adapter.

Questions about this item

How do I confirm the Intel Core i7-1255U is reaching its 4.7 GHz turbo speed after setup?

Open Task Manager, go to the Performance tab, select CPU and watch the clock speed while running a heavy single-thread load; it should spike toward 4.7 GHz when thermal headroom allows.

What comes in the box with the ProBook 450 G9 and what must I buy separately?

The laptop, a 45 W USB-C power adapter and documentation are included; a docking station, external monitor, USB-C hub or extra NVMe SSD are not supplied.

Which memory configuration should I choose if I want to upgrade the 16 GB DDR4-3200 later?

The system ships with two 8 GB DDR4-3200 modules filling both slots, so any upgrade means replacing both sticks with a matched 2 x 16 GB or 2 x 32 GB DDR4-3200 kit.
