Complete gaming desktop with monitor and peripherals

This HP ProDesk G2 RGB gaming desktop bundles a 24-inch anti-glare LED monitor, wired RGB keyboard and mouse, and a Wi-Fi adapter in a small-form-factor chassis. The system ships with Windows 10 Pro 64-bit pre-installed for immediate use.

Suitable for entry-level gaming

The Intel Core i5-6500 quad-core processor reaches 3.60 GHz boost alongside 16 GB DDR4 memory and a 1 TB SSD for fast boot and load times. Buyers who need higher frame rates at 1080p or 4K gaming, or who require more than 64 GB of RAM, should look at a more powerful configuration.

Discrete NVIDIA GeForce GT 1030 graphics

The dedicated GPU provides DisplayPort outputs that support 4K display and frees system memory for applications. Integrated graphics alone would limit resolution and multi-monitor capability, so this card is the deciding factor for visual workloads.

Questions about this item

How do I install the GT 1030 graphics card in the small-form-factor ProDesk, and what step do people miss?

The GT 1030 ships pre-installed in the low-profile PCIe slot; the step people miss is connecting the monitor cable to the card's DisplayPort instead of the motherboard video output.

What maintenance or replacement will the 16 GB DDR4 memory need later?

The board supports up to 64 GB DDR4 across two slots; you can add matching 16 GB modules later if workloads grow beyond the factory 16 GB.

What limit appears first during sustained gaming on the GT 1030 2 GB DDR5?

The 2 GB DDR5 frame buffer fills quickly at 1080p high settings, so texture detail must be lowered before the GPU core becomes the bottleneck.
