HP ProDesk G2 SFF Gaming Desktop

This HP ProDesk G2 is a small form factor desktop built around an Intel Core i5-6500 processor running at 3.2 GHz up to 3.6 GHz. It includes 16GB DDR4 memory, a 256GB SSD and a 2TB HDD for storage. An NVIDIA GeForce GT 1030 graphics card and a 24 inch monitor complete the package with Windows 10 Pro installed.

Suits entry-level gaming and general productivity

Buyers wanting 1080p gaming at medium settings on older titles will find this system capable. The 16GB DDR4 and dual-drive layout handle multitasking and fast boot times well. Users needing modern AAA performance, higher frame rates, or GPU-intensive workloads should look at systems with more powerful graphics cards and newer processor architectures.

Sustained load stays stable in the compact chassis

The small form factor design manages heat from the 65W processor and GT 1030 during extended sessions without throttling in typical use. The 256GB SSD keeps operating system and active game loads responsive over long periods. Dust accumulation in the tight interior can gradually raise temperatures, so occasional cleaning helps maintain consistent performance.

Questions about this item

Do I need to supply my own DDR4 memory to reach the 64 GB maximum supported?

The system already ships with 16 GB DDR4 installed; you only add modules if you want more than that.

Will my existing USB 3.0 peripherals work at full speed on this desktop?

Yes, the front and rear USB 3.0 ports run at 3.0 spec so older USB 3.0 devices operate at their rated throughput.

How can I confirm the GT 1030 is active after I connect the 24″ monitor?

Open Device Manager in Windows 10 Pro; under Display adapters you should see NVIDIA GeForce GT 1030 listed without error icons.
