HP ProDesk G2 SFF desktop

This HP ProDesk G2 is a small-form-factor desktop built around an Intel Core i5-6500 processor running at 3.2 GHz with a turbo up to 3.6 GHz. It ships with 16 GB of DDR4 memory, a 1 TB SSD and an NVIDIA GeForce GT 1030 graphics card with 2 GB of DDR5 video memory. Windows 10 Pro is pre-installed and a wired RGB keyboard and mouse are included.

Sustained-load behaviour

The quad-core i5-6500 maintains clocks up to 3.6 GHz while the compact chassis manages thermals for typical productivity and light gaming sessions. The 1 TB SSD keeps boot and application launch times short during extended use. The GT 1030 2 GB DDR5 card handles esports titles and media playback at 1080p without throttling in the small-form-factor enclosure.

Pre-order checklist

Verify that your monitor provides a DisplayPort input for 4K output or an alternative compatible video connection. Confirm the 64 GB maximum memory ceiling matches any future upgrade plans. Ensure the small-form-factor dimensions suit your desk space and that the included wired peripherals meet your preference versus wireless alternatives.

Questions about this item

How loud and warm does the i5-6500 system run during all-day use?

The 65 W Intel Core i5-6500 and the low-profile GT 1030 2 GB DDR5 graphics card keep heat modest in the small-form-factor chassis, so fan noise stays at a quiet office level even after hours of operation.

What must I already own to start using this desktop?

A monitor with DisplayPort or compatible video input, plus a mains power cable, are the only external items required; Windows 10 Pro, 16 GB DDR4, 1 TB SSD, wired RGB keyboard and mouse are all included.

Can I keep my existing DDR4 modules when upgrading to the 64 GB maximum?

Yes — the board supports up to 64 GB of DDR4, so any matching DDR4 DIMMs you already have can stay installed alongside the factory 16 GB.
