Dual 3.4 GHz Xeon E5-2643 v3 CPUs, 16 GB DDR4, four 1 TB SAS drives and an H240ar RAID controller in a 1U rack chassis
Installed Memory Size 16GB
HDD 4 x 1TB SAS
The HP ProLiant DL360 Gen9 is a 1U rack server built for density and performance. It ships with dual Intel Xeon E5-2643 v3 six-core processors running at 3.4 GHz and 16 GB of DDR4 ECC registered memory. Four 1 TB 7.2 K SAS drives are installed in the four large-form-factor bays, managed by a Smart HBA H240ar controller supporting RAID 0, 1, 5, 6, 10, 50 and 60. Dual 500 W hot-swap power supplies provide redundancy.
This server suits environments that need high per-core frequency in a single rack unit, such as database nodes, virtualization hosts or HPC front-ends. The 3.4 GHz Xeon E5-2643 v3 CPUs deliver strong single-thread performance. Buyers who require more than 16 GB of RAM from day one should look elsewhere, as the configuration ships with only 16 GB installed across 24 DIMM slots.
The Smart HBA H240ar provides 12 Gb SAS and 6 Gb SATA connectivity with hardware RAID 0, 1, 5, 6, 10, 50 and 60. It controls the four included 1 TB SAS drives and any additional SAS or SATA devices installed in the 3.5-inch bays. Verify that your drive firmware and cabling match the H240ar specification before deployment.

Other versions of this model
The chassis occupies a single 1U rack height and provides four 3.5-inch large-form-factor drive bays for the installed SAS drives.
Both processors are pre-installed on the dual-socket C610 board; the 16 GB of DDR4 ECC registered memory populates a subset of the 24 DIMM slots — 12 per processor — and the frequent error is mixing DIMM capacities across the two processor channels, which prevents the system from posting.
The four 1 TB 7.2K SAS drives and the two 500 W hot-swap power supplies are the primary field-replaceable units; the H240ar controller and system BIOS also require periodic firmware updates to maintain RAID 0/1/5/6/10/50/60 compatibility.
