Dual 12-core Xeon E5-2670v3 at 2.3 GHz with 32 GB DDR4 and four 1 TB SAS drives in a 1U rack server
Installed Memory Size 32GB
HDD 4 x 1TB SAS
The HP ProLiant DL360 Gen9 fits two Xeon E5-2670v3 processors and 32 GB of DDR4 memory into a single rack unit. It is built for environments that need high core density without sacrificing expansion slots or storage bays. The platform supports up to 36 total cores across the processor family.
Dual 500 W hot-swap power supplies keep the system running if one unit fails. Four large-form-factor 3.5-inch bays hold the included 1 TB SAS drives, while the Smart HBA H240ar controller manages RAID 0, 1, 5, 6, 10, 50 and 60 across 12 Gb SAS and 6 Gb SATA links. Twenty-four DIMM slots allow memory to grow with the workload.
Moving from a single-processor tower or a half-depth rack box adds a second CPU, doubling thread count to 48 with hyper-threading and raising the memory ceiling to 3 TB. The jump makes sense when virtualisation density, database threading or compute-heavy batch jobs outgrow the current platform. Buyers who need GPU acceleration or more than four drive bays should look elsewhere.

Other versions of this model
The Smart HBA H240ar controller supports RAID 0, 1, 5, 6, 10, 50 and 60 across the installed SAS drives.
The chassis provides four LFF bays that accept 3.5-inch SAS drives; the four 1 TB drives ship installed in those bays.
Both 12-core 2.3 GHz CPUs are pre-fitted in the dual-socket C610 board and the 32 GB DDR4 ECC registered memory occupies the corresponding DIMM slots, ready to run.
