A 1U rack server with a six-core 2.4 GHz Xeon, 64 GB DDR4, two 4 TB SAS drives and redundant power supplies
The HP ProLiant DL360 Gen9 fits a single Intel Xeon E5-2620 v3 six-core processor at 2.4 GHz with 64 GB of DDR4 ECC registered memory across 24 DIMM slots. It targets buyers who need a compact rackmount platform with redundant power and hardware RAID for mixed storage arrays. Buyers who want more storage bays or dual-processor performance from day one should look elsewhere.
Two 500 W redundant hot-swap power supplies keep the system running during a module failure. Four 3.5-inch large-form-factor bays hold the two included 4 TB 7.2K SAS drives and leave two bays open for expansion. The Smart HBA H240ar controller provides 12 Gb SAS and 6 Gb SATA connectivity with RAID 0, 1, 5, 6, 10, 50 and 60 support. No optical drive or media bay is present.
The installed processor delivers six cores and twelve threads at 2.4 GHz, and the 64 GB of DDR4 already occupies the maximum capacity supported by this CPU. All 24 memory slots are populated, so any future memory increase requires a second processor and higher-capacity modules. The Matrox G200 GPU handles basic console output only.

Other versions of this model
The H240ar provides 12Gb SAS connectivity, while the two 4TB drives operate at 6Gbps SAS.
The server includes four LFF bays; two are populated with the 4TB SAS drives and two remain open for expansion.
The H240ar is pre-installed in a dedicated internal slot; the step often missed is enabling its Option ROM in UEFI so the RAID volumes appear during boot.
