1U rack server with a 2.6 GHz Xeon E5-2640 v3 eight-core processor, 96 GB DDR4 memory, two 1 TB SAS drives and redundant 500 W power supplies
Installed Memory Size 96GB
HDD 2 x 1TB SAS
The HP ProLiant DL360 Gen9 fits a single Intel Xeon E5-2640 v3 eight-core processor running at 2.6 GHz into a 1U rack chassis. Ninety-six gigabytes of DDR4 ECC registered memory occupy half of the twenty-four DIMM slots, leaving room for future expansion. Two 1 TB 7.2 K SAS drives sit in two of the four large-form-factor bays, managed by the Smart HBA H240ar controller. The platform targets workloads that need dense, reliable compute without a full-height footprint.
Two hot-swap 500 W power supplies share the load so a single failure does not interrupt operation. The H240ar presents twelve-gigabit SAS and six-gigabit SATA paths to the backplane, enabling RAID levels 0, 1, 5, 6, 10, 50 and 60 across the installed drives and any additions. Two empty 3.5-inch bays remain available for capacity growth, and a second processor socket can double core count when the workload demands it. No operating system is included, so the installer chooses the hypervisor or OS that matches the environment.
Eight physical cores with hyper-threading expose sixteen logical threads that keep pipelines full during extended batch, virtualization or database jobs. DDR4 memory runs up to 2400 MT/s per processor capability, feeding data without the stalls seen in smaller configurations. The SAS drives deliver steady 6 Gbps sequential bandwidth suited to logging, backup targets or shared storage volumes. Redundant cooling and power keep thermals stable so performance does not throttle during multi-hour runs.

Other versions of this model
The single installed Xeon E5-2640 v3 provides eight cores running at 2.6 GHz with hyper-threading for 16 threads.
Dual 500 W hot-swap units share the load; each supply is rated for 500 W output and the server supports full redundancy.
DDR4 ECC registered DIMMs up to 2400 MT/s are required; 24 slots exist and 12 per processor are usable with the current single CPU.
