1U rack server with a 3.4 GHz Xeon six-core, 32 GB DDR4, and dual 1 TB SAS drives on an H240ar controller
The HP ProLiant DL360 Gen9 is a 1U rack server built for dense compute workloads. It ships with a single Intel Xeon E5-2643v3 six-core processor running at 3.4GHz, 32GB of DDR4 ECC registered memory and two 1TB 7.2K SAS drives. Redundant hot-swap 500W power supplies and the Smart HBA H240ar controller with RAID 0/1/5/6/10/50/60 support complete the baseline configuration.
This configuration suits virtualisation hosts, database nodes or general-purpose applications that benefit from high single-thread frequency and redundant power. The Matrox G200 graphics and lack of PCIe GPU slots mean it cannot serve GPU-accelerated workloads, VDI with 3D requirements or render farms. Buyers needing more than four 3.5-inch drive bays or a second processor from day one should evaluate larger chassis options.
The installed processor is a single Intel Xeon E5-2643v3 with six cores at 3.4GHz, providing twelve threads via hyper-threading. A second socket is available for future expansion up to two processors and 36 total cores. Memory runs as DDR4 ECC registered up to 2400MT/s depending on the CPU, with 24 DIMM slots supporting a maximum of 3TB when both sockets are populated.

Other versions of this model
The server includes two 500 W redundant hot-swap power supplies; actual heat output depends on workload and inlet temperature.
It uses DDR4 ECC registered DIMMs at up to 2400 MT/s; 24 slots are available, 12 per processor.
The H240ar supports 12 Gb SAS and 6 Gb SATA, so it can mix the installed 6 Gbps SAS HDDs with faster SAS SSDs.
