A 1U rack server with a 12‑core 2.3 GHz Xeon, 128 GB DDR4, H240ar RAID and dual 500 W power supplies
This 1U rack server ships with a twelve-core Intel Xeon E5-2670 v3 running at 2.3 GHz and 128 GB of DDR4 memory across the full complement of 24 DIMM slots. The Smart HBA H240ar controller provides hardware RAID 0, 1, 5, 6, 10, 50 and 60 over 12 Gb SAS and 6 Gb SATA links to the eight small-form-factor drive bays. Dual 500 W hot-swap supplies deliver redundant power in a single rack unit.
The configuration suits virtualization hosts, database nodes or compute clusters that need dense core count and maximum registered ECC memory in a shallow chassis. Buyers who require a second processor to reach the 36-core ceiling or who need more than eight internal drive bays should evaluate alternative platforms. The embedded Matrox G200 with 16 MB video memory is intended solely for management console output.
The installed 128 GB of DDR4 already saturates the 24 DIMM slots on this single-processor build, so any memory expansion demands a second CPU and additional slots. If the workload cannot operate within that fixed 128 GB ceiling, this specific unit is not the right part.

Other versions of this model
During POST the H240ar BIOS utility will display each attached SAS or SATA drive and its RAID level; a healthy array shows all members as OK and the logical volume as optimal.
You need 2.5‑inch SAS or SATA drives; the H240ar supports up to eight SFF devices in RAID 0, 1, 5, 6, 10, 50 or 60.
The board accepts two CPUs; a second E5‑2670 v3 would double cores to 24 and unlock the remaining 12 DIMM slots for memory beyond 128GB.
