A 1U rack server with a twelve-core Xeon at 2.3 GHz, 48 GB DDR4, B140i SATA RAID and eight 2.5-inch drive bays
Installed Memory Size 48GB
HDD None
The HP ProLiant DL360 Gen9 is a 1U rack server built for dense compute environments. It ships with a single Intel Xeon E5-2670 v3 twelve-core processor running at 2.3GHz and 48GB of DDR4 ECC memory. Dual 500W redundant hot-swap power supplies support high availability. The B140i controller provides software RAID 0, 1, 5 and 10 for SATA drives only.
This configuration suits virtualisation hosts, database nodes or web tiers that benefit from twelve cores and 48GB of installed memory. The chassis offers eight 2.5-inch SFF bays and 24 DIMM slots, though maximum memory capacity is listed as 48GB with the current processor. Buyers who need dual-socket performance, larger memory footprints or hardware RAID with SAS support should evaluate other platforms.
The storage controller is the defining constraint: B140i Software RAID supports RAID 0, 1, 5 and 10 on SATA drives only. SAS volumes and hardware RAID acceleration are not available on this controller. If your deployment requires SAS connectivity or a dedicated RAID processor, a different controller or server model must be selected.
