1U rack server with Xeon E5-2640 v3, 48GB DDR4, dual 300GB 15K SAS drives and H240ar RAID controller
Installed Memory Size 48GB
HDD 2 x 300GB 15K
The HP ProLiant DL360 Gen9 is a 1U rack server built for dense compute workloads. It ships with a single Intel Xeon E5-2640 v3 eight-core processor running at 2.6GHz. The system includes 48GB of DDR4 ECC registered memory across 24 DIMM slots. This configuration suits virtualisation hosts and database nodes needing high core density in minimal rack space.
Two hot-swap 500W redundant power supplies maintain uptime during a module failure. The chassis provides four large form factor 3.5-inch drive bays for SAS or SATA media. An HP Smart HBA H240ar controller manages RAID 0, 1, 5, 6, 10, 50 and 60 across 12Gb SAS and 6Gb SATA links. The server includes two 300GB 15K RPM SAS drives installed in trays.
With one processor populated the installed 48GB matches the per-socket maximum, leaving 12 DIMM slots unused. Adding a second Xeon E5 v3 CPU unlocks the remaining slots and raises the system ceiling to 3TB. Buyers who need more than 48GB today must plan for a second processor purchase. The Matrox G200 GPU handles basic display output only.

Other versions of this model
The H240ar controller supports RAID 0, 1, 5, 6, 10, 50 and 60.
The 1U chassis provides four LFF bays for 3.5-inch SAS drives.
The H240ar is a dedicated mezzanine card that slots into the motherboard; the step often missed is enabling the controller in the system BIOS before configuring RAID.
