It ships with a single Intel Xeon E5-2640 v3 processor running at 2.6 GHz across eight cores and 48 GB of DDR4 ECC registered memory. Four 3.5-inch 1 TB SAS drives and an H240ar controller provide internal storage and RAID 0, 1, 5, 6, 10, 50, 60. Dual 500 W hot-swap power supplies deliver redundancy in a 1U form factor.

Virtualisation hosts and storage-heavy workloads

This configuration suits teams running hypervisors, database instances or file services that benefit from 16 hardware threads and four large-form-factor drive bays. The single-socket layout leaves the second processor socket open for future expansion. Buyers needing GPU acceleration, 10 GbE networking or more than four internal 3.5-inch bays should evaluate other platforms.

Single-socket DDR4 ceiling

The installed processor caps memory speed at 2400 MT/s and the current 48 GB populate only a fraction of the 24 DIMM slots. Adding a second Xeon unlocks the remaining 12 slots and raises the theoretical maximum to 3 TB, but the existing CPU alone cannot address memory beyond its own 12 channels.
