2U rack server with a 3.4 GHz six-core Xeon, 48 GB DDR4, P440 4 GB FBWC RAID controller and 16 SFF bays
This 2U rack server is built for data-centre workloads that demand compute density and storage flexibility. It ships with a single Intel Xeon E5-2643 v3 six-core processor at 3.4GHz, 48GB of DDR4 ECC registered memory and an HP Smart Array P440 controller with 4GB flash-backed write cache. Redundant hot-swap 500W power supplies and sixteen 2.5-inch SFF drive bays complete the platform.
Suits teams that need up to two processors, twenty-four DIMM slots and hardware RAID across a large bay count without occupying more than 2U. Not for buyers who want more storage bays than sixteen SFF slots, who require an operating system pre-installed, or who need GPU-accelerated workloads beyond the integrated Matrox G200eH2 video with 16MB memory.
The installed controller delivers hardware RAID 0, 1, 5, 6, 10, 50 and 60 with 12Gb/s SAS connectivity and flash-backed write cache to protect in-flight data during power loss. It supports the full sixteen-bay population and enables online capacity expansion. If the workload demands a different RAID feature set or external SAS connectivity, a different controller would be required.
