Dual Xeon E5-2609 v3 1.9 GHz with 32 GB DDR4, 2× 600 GB 15K SAS, P440 4 GB FBWC RAID, 24-bay 2U rack, redundant 500 W power
The HP ProLiant DL380 Gen9 is a 2U rack server equipped with two six-core Intel Xeon E5-2609 v3 processors running at 1.9 GHz. It ships with 32 GB of DDR4 ECC registered memory installed across 24 DIMM slots. The system targets organisations that need reliable compute density for virtualisation, database hosting or general business applications in a standard rack environment.
Dual 500 W hot-swap power supplies provide redundancy so the server remains online if one unit fails. The Smart Array P440 controller includes 4 GB of flash-backed write cache, which protects in-flight data during unexpected power loss and keeps write performance consistent under heavy I/O. Two 600 GB 15K RPM SAS drives deliver high spindle speed for transactional workloads that demand low latency over long periods.
The chassis offers 24 small form factor 2.5-inch drive bays with an option to add a rear cage for two more drives. The P440 controller supports RAID 0, 1, 5, 6, 10, 50 and 60, allowing administrators to choose the redundancy and capacity balance that fits each workload. Matrox G200eH2 graphics provide basic console output for local management without requiring a discrete GPU.

Other versions of this model
Each supply is rated at 500W; the redundant pair shares the load so the server never exceeds that ceiling under normal operation.
The unit fits a standard 2U rack opening; mounting rails are not included with the server.
Yes, the Smart Array P440 supports both 12Gb and 6Gb SAS, so older 6Gbps drives connect and run at their native speed.
