2U rack server with a 1.9 GHz six-core Xeon, 128 GB DDR4, dual 1 TB SAS drives and a P440 RAID controller with 4 GB flash-backed cache
This 2U rack server ships with a single Intel Xeon E5-2609 v3 six-core processor at 1.9 GHz and 128 GB of DDR4 ECC registered memory installed. It is suited for virtualization hosts, database nodes or general compute clusters that need dense processing in a standard rack footprint. The Smart Array P440 controller with 4 GB FBWC manages the included storage.
The chassis supports up to two processors and a maximum of 128 GB total memory across 24 DIMM slots, so no further RAM can be added beyond the 128 GB already fitted. A second Xeon E5 v3 CPU can be installed if the workload demands more than six cores. Verify that your rack provides 2U of vertical space and that the 500 W redundant power supplies match your PDU connectors.
Sixteen 2.5-inch SAS drive bays are available; two 1 TB 7.2K drives are installed and the P440 supports RAID 0, 1, 5, 6, 10, 50 and 60 across all bays. An optional universal media bay or an extra eight SFF bays can occupy the third bay area. Dual hot-swap power supplies deliver redundancy without external UPS units. The Matrox G200eH2 graphics provide basic console output for headless management.

Other versions of this model
The 2U rack chassis includes a single Xeon E5-2609 v3 1.9 GHz 6-core processor, 128 GB DDR4 memory across 24 DIMM slots, two 1 TB 7.2K 2.5" SAS drives with trays, a P440 controller with 4 GB FBWC, dual 500 W redundant power supplies and a Matrox G200eH2 GPU. An operating system, a second processor and additional drives are not included.
The board offers 24 DDR4 slots (12 per CPU) and currently holds 128 GB. Supported modules are 4 GB, 8 GB, 16 GB, 32 GB or 64 GB ECC Registered DIMMs up to 2400 MT/s; actual speed depends on the installed processor. The second CPU must be added to access the remaining 12 slots and reach the 3 TB maximum.
The single six-core Xeon E5-2609 v3 runs at a fixed 1.9 GHz and provides up to 36 total cores when a second processor is installed. It drives the C610 chipset, 24 DIMM channels and the 12 Gb/s SAS backplane for the 16 SFF bays, while the P440 4 GB FBWC handles RAID 0/1/5/6/10/50/60 across the two included 1 TB drives.
