High-volume cartridge-free ink tank printer

The HP Smart Tank 7001 is a wireless all-in-one inkjet printer that uses refillable ink bottles instead of cartridges. It prints, copies and scans with automatic two-sided printing and borderless output. Black print speed reaches 15 ppm and colour 9 ppm. The box includes HP 32XL black and HP 31 colour bottles for up to 6,000 black or 8,000 colour pages.

Families and home offices printing colour in volume

This model suits users who want low cost per page and spill-free refilling for frequent colour documents and photos. It is not for buyers who need a dedicated fax function or who require higher duty-cycle ratings than 5,000 pages per month. It also does not fit workflows that depend on cartridge-based supplies.

Windows PC with 2 GB disk space and internet

Before ordering, confirm your computer runs Windows 11, Windows 10 or Windows 7 (32-bit or 64-bit) with at least 2 GB of free hard-disk space and an internet connection for driver installation. The printer connects wirelessly, so a functioning Wi-Fi network is required for mobile and wireless printing features.

Questions about this item

What operating system must my computer run to install the printer software?

The printer supports Windows 11, Windows 10 and Windows 7 in 32-bit or 64-bit versions with at least 2 GB of free hard-disk space and an Internet connection.

Will the automatic two-sided printing work with the same paper sizes I use on my older single-sided printer?

Yes, the automatic duplex function handles standard sizes such as A4 and Letter that are common on older devices.

How can I confirm the printer is delivering the rated 15 ppm black and 9 ppm colour speeds after setup?

Print a multi-page document and time the output; the first page may take longer, but sustained throughput should approach the rated speeds for plain paper.
