Victus 15 with i5-13420H

The HP Victus 15 is a 15.6-inch gaming laptop built around a 13th Gen Intel 8-core i5-13420H processor. It targets users who want a capable portable machine for modern titles and everyday multitasking. The system ships with Windows 11 Home, 16GB of DDR4 memory and a 1TB SSD. A dedicated NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4050 6GB GPU handles graphics workloads.

144Hz IPS display and port selection

The 1920x1080 IPS panel runs at 144Hz with an anti-glare finish for smooth motion in fast-paced games. Video output is provided by one HDMI 2.1 port for external monitors. Data and peripherals connect through one USB-C 3.2 port, two USB-A 3.2 ports and a multi-format SD card reader. Wired networking uses the RJ-45 Ethernet jack. A 720p HD camera and Bang & Olufsen audio cover communication and sound.

70Wh battery and thermal behaviour

A 4-cell 70Wh battery powers the chassis and supports HP Fast Charge for quick top-ups. Under sustained load the octa-core CPU can boost up to 4.6GHz while the RTX 4050 maintains its 6GB frame buffer. The 0.92-inch profile and 5.05-pound weight reflect a design that balances airflow with portability. Fan curves manage heat during extended sessions without relying on external cooling.

Questions about this item

At what clock does the i5-13420H hit its thermal ceiling under sustained load?

The processor tops out at its 4.6 GHz max boost clock; sustained clocks will settle lower once the 70 Wh battery and cooling reach equilibrium.

How loud do the fans get and what is the surface temperature after hours of gaming?

Expect audible fan spin at full load with the keyboard deck and bottom panel warming noticeably; the 70 Wh pack and 4-cell design limit runtime under heavy draw.

Which external display cable and power brick must I already own to drive a second screen at 144 Hz?

Use the HDMI 2.1 port with a certified Ultra High Speed HDMI cable; the included HP Fast Charge adapter powers the laptop and charges the 70 Wh battery simultaneously.
