Compact workstation for AI and 3D

The HP Z2 G1i Mini PC BM6G5UT#ABA packs an Intel Core Ultra 7 265 processor, 32 GB of memory and a 1 TB SSD into a small black chassis. An NVIDIA RTX 4000 Ada Generation graphics card with 20 GB of video memory handles professional visualisation and compute workloads. Windows 11 Pro comes pre-installed on the Intel W880 chipset platform.

Upgrade from tower workstations

This system replaces bulky desktop towers when desk space is limited but GPU acceleration is still required. The jump is worth it for users moving from CPUs with integrated graphics who now need 20 GB of dedicated VRAM for large models or datasets. Buyers who need multiple full-size add-in cards or more than 32 GB of RAM should look elsewhere.

Simple deployment with standard peripherals

The mini chassis uses an external power supply and offers front and rear ports for monitors, network and USB devices. No internal assembly is required — connect power, display and input devices, then boot into Windows 11 Pro. The compact layout restricts future GPU upgrades, so confirm the 20 GB RTX 4000 Ada meets long-term needs before purchase.

Questions about this item

What internal expansion slots or drive bays does the Z2 Mini G1i chassis provide for adding storage or cards?

The mini workstation uses a compact chassis with no full-size PCIe slots; storage upgrades are limited to the M.2 socket already occupied by the 1 TB drive.

Does the Intel W880 chipset require any special driver or BIOS step during Windows 11 Pro installation?

Windows 11 Pro installs normally; the W880 chipset drivers are delivered through Windows Update after first boot, so no manual driver load is needed during setup.

Is the NVIDIA RTX 4000 Ada 20 GB graphics module user-replaceable or soldered to the system board?

The RTX 4000 Ada GPU is integrated into the system board and cannot be swapped; future graphics upgrades would require a different workstation.
