HP Z2 G4 Workstation for Professional Users

This HP Z2 G4 mid-tower workstation is built for professionals who need reliable compute and graphics performance. It pairs an Intel Core i7-9700 8-core processor with an NVIDIA Quadro RTX 5000 16GB card for certified application stability. The system ships with Windows 11 Pro installed and includes 64GB of DDR4 2666 memory.

Tool-Free Access and Single GPU Constraint

The mid-tower chassis offers tool-free entry for memory and storage upgrades. The 500W 90% efficient power supply supports the installed Quadro RTX 5000, but its capacity limits the addition of a second high-end graphics card. Verify that your workload fits within the 500W budget before adding further PCIe devices.

Quadro RTX 5000 16GB GDDR6 Decides Fit

The NVIDIA Quadro RTX 5000 with 16GB GDDR6 memory and 256-bit interface is the specification that determines suitability. It provides four DisplayPort 1.4 outputs and VirtualLink for professional visualisation workloads. Buyers who need more than 16GB of video memory or multiple GPU scaling should consider a different platform.

Questions about this item

How can I confirm the Quadro RTX 5000 16GB GDDR6 is running correctly after installing Windows 11 Pro?

Open Device Manager, expand Display adapters and verify the card appears as NVIDIA Quadro RTX 5000 with 16 GB dedicated memory, then run the NVIDIA System Information tool to confirm driver version and GDDR6 memory type.

What comes in the box with the Z2 G4 and what must I source separately?

The workstation ships with the mid-tower chassis, Intel Core i7-9700 processor, 64 GB DDR4 2666 memory (4 x 16 GB), 2 TB NVMe SSD, Quadro RTX 5000 graphics card with four DisplayPort 1.4 outputs and VirtualLink, 500 W 90 % efficient power supply, and Windows 11 Pro digital licence; a monitor, keyboard and mouse are not included.

Should I choose the 64 GB DDR4 2666 configuration or plan to expand to the 128 GB maximum later?

The system arrives with four 16 GB modules filling all slots, so 64 GB is the only capacity available without removing existing memory; if you anticipate needing 128 GB you would have to replace the installed kit rather than add to it.
