Compact workstation bundle

This HP Z2 Mini G9 bundle combines a mini workstation, a 34-inch curved EliteDisplay E34m G4 monitor and an MK650 wireless keyboard and mouse set. The Intel Core i7-14700 20-core processor reaches 5.4 GHz turbo and includes Intel UHD Graphics 770. The system ships with 16GB memory, a 512GB NVMe SSD and Windows 11 Pro. It targets professionals who need certified performance in a small footprint.

Desk-centric connectivity

The mini workstation fits on a desk or behind the monitor and provides DisplayPort, Gigabit Ethernet, wireless LAN and USB ports. The monitor adds HDMI, DisplayPort, a USB hub and USB-C with a built-in 5MP webcam. The MK650 combo connects via a 2.40 GHz USB wireless receiver and supports multi-device pairing with 24 shortcut keys and customizable keys. Together the components create a complete, cable-managed workstation without needing a separate tower.

Certified performance envelope

HP tests the workstation to 360K hours and military-standard criteria and certifies it for professional applications. The 16GB memory and 512GB NVMe drive handle typical 3D design, rendering and simulation workloads. The monitor delivers 3440 x 1440 resolution, 16.7 million colours, a 75 Hz refresh rate and a 5 ms response time. Buyers who need more memory, larger storage or discrete graphics for heavier compute tasks will need to look beyond this configuration.

Questions about this item

How does the 20-core i7-14700 with 5.4 GHz turbo handle sustained 3D rendering workloads?

The 20-core i7-14700 reaches 5.4 GHz turbo for burst rendering, but the mini chassis and standard low-profile GPU mean thermal limits will throttle sustained 3D workloads before the CPU can hold peak clocks continuously.

What noise and heat levels should I expect from the Z2 Mini G9 running all day with the 75 Hz curved monitor?

The Z2 Mini G9 uses a compact fan design that stays quiet at idle, but sustained loads spin the fan higher; the 34-inch E34m G4 monitor runs at 75 Hz with 5 ms response and adds minimal heat to the desk.

Which cables and ports do I need on my desk to connect the monitor, mini PC and wireless combo together?

Connect the E34m G4 via DisplayPort or HDMI to the Z2 Mini G9, plug the MK650 2.40 GHz USB receiver into any free USB port, and route power to both the mini PC and the monitor.
