Compact Workstation for Demanding Workflows

The HP Z2 Small Form Factor G9 workstation delivers full-tower performance in a slim chassis. It pairs a 20-core Intel Core i7-14700 processor with 32GB of memory and a 1TB NVMe drive. An NVIDIA RTX A2000 card with 12GB GDDR6 handles 3D design and AI-augmented applications. Windows 11 Pro and vPro technology provide a managed, secure environment for professional workloads.

Thermals, Noise and Power in Normal Use

The small form factor design houses a 5.4 GHz turbo processor and full-height professional graphics within a reduced volume. The system balances airflow to sustain compute-intensive tasks such as real-time ray tracing without throttling. Acoustic output remains controlled during typical rendering or simulation sessions. Power draw scales with the 20-core CPU and RTX GPU load under standard operating conditions.

Bundled Input and Connectivity Upgrades

The MK650 wireless combo adds 24 shortcut keys and customizable keys for workflow shortcuts, while SilentTouch Technology reduces click noise. Multi-device connectivity lets the keyboard and mouse switch between hosts without re-pairing. The T2U Plus WiFi adapter supplies dual-band AC600 speeds — 433 Mbps on 5 GHz and 200 Mbps on 2.4 GHz — via high-gain 5 dBi antennas for stronger reception.

Questions about this item

How do I install the MK650 keyboard and mouse with the USB Bolt receiver, and what step do people forget?

Plug the USB Bolt receiver into a free USB port on the workstation, insert the supplied batteries into both devices, and switch them on; the step people miss is pressing the pairing button on the receiver to link the 24 shortcut keys and customizable keys.

What maintenance or replacement will the RTX A2000 12GB GDDR6 graphics card need later?

The RTX A2000 12GB GDDR6 is a sealed full-height full-length card with no user-serviceable parts; only periodic dust removal from the heatsink fins inside the small form factor chassis is required.

Which limit appears first during sustained heavy workloads on the i7-14700 20-core 2.1 GHz processor?

The small form factor thermal envelope will throttle the 20-core processor before the RTX A2000 12GB GDDR6 reaches its own limits.
