Compact workstation for professional workflows

The HP Z2 Small Form Factor G9 delivers workstation-class performance in a slim chassis. It pairs an Intel Core i7-14700 20-core processor with 64 GB of memory and a 1 TB NVMe SSD. An NVIDIA RTX A2000 with 12 GB GDDR6 handles 3D design and AI-augmented applications. Windows 11 Pro and vPro technology provide a secure, managed environment.

Upgrade from space-constrained towers

This system replaces bulky full-height workstations while keeping a full-height, full-length graphics slot for the RTX A2000. The jump is worth it when desk space is limited but workloads still demand 20 cores at up to 5.4 GHz turbo and professional GPU memory. Buyers who need multiple double-slot cards or more than 64 GB RAM should look elsewhere.

Check power, display and peripheral needs

Verify that your monitors use DisplayPort or another output supported by the RTX A2000. The bundle includes a T2U Plus dual-band Wi-Fi adapter with 5 dBi antennas rated for 433 Mbps on 5 GHz and 200 Mbps on 2.4 GHz, plus an MK650 wireless keyboard and mouse combo with 24 shortcut keys and multi-device connectivity. Ensure your network infrastructure matches the AC600 class.

Questions about this item

What internal clearance does the SFF chassis need to accept the full-height, full-length RTX A2000 12GB GDDR6 card?

The Z2 SFF G9 is built to house a full-height, full-length professional graphics card, so the case provides the exact slot depth and bracket height required for the RTX A2000 12GB GDDR6 without adapters.

Which steps are required to install the MK650 keyboard and mouse combo, and which step do users most often skip?

Plug the USB Bolt 2.40 GHz receiver into a free USB port, turn on the keyboard and mouse using their power switches, then press the multi-device pairing button to link additional devices — the pairing step is the one most frequently missed.

What component will need replacement first under heavy 3D workloads, and what specification should the replacement match?

The RTX A2000 12GB GDDR6 graphics card is the primary heat-generating part; when it eventually requires replacement, the new card must also be a full-height, full-length design with a 12 GB GDDR6 frame buffer to fit the SFF chassis and maintain performance.
