Tower workstation with a 3.50 GHz quad-core Xeon E5-1620 v4, eight DDR4 slots and no memory or storage installed
The HP Z440 is a tower workstation built for professional design, rendering, engineering and data-heavy applications. It ships without memory, storage, graphics or an operating system so integrators can configure the exact specification their workflow requires.
The board accepts one Intel Xeon E5-1620 v4 processor in an LGA 2011 socket running at 3.50 GHz across four cores. Maximum processor count is one, so dual-socket upgrades are not possible on this chassis.
Eight DDR4 memory slots allow you to populate capacity and speed to match the workload. Empty drive bays let you choose any combination of hard drives or solid-state drives without being locked into a factory configuration.

The four cores at 3.50 GHz give strong single-thread speed for viewport interaction and a solid multi-thread base for final-frame rendering, with Turbo raising clocks further when thermals allow.
The board accepts only DDR4 modules across its eight slots and is keyed for LGA 2011 Xeon E5 v4 processors, so memory generation and CPU family are fixed by the platform.
The full-height tower has standard PCIe x16 slots and internal drive bays; a discrete GPU will require its own supplementary power cables from the workstation's power supply.
